Miradur MD and KB, high-quality cover materials for the graphic arts and luxury packaging industries
Our cover materials serve the needs of the graphic arts and packaging industries in particular. The range includes both popular classics and trendy designs including also leather-like and fabric-like products. We are also pleased to create tailor-made solutions according to customer wishes. Please notice that some of the colors in Miradur MD and KB collections may have color variations between different manufacturing batches.
MD
MD™ is a paper-based vinyl cover material and it’s suitable for hardcover books, gift boxes, cases, menus and wine cards. Its main advantages are trendy appearance, durability, and a pleasant feel. The material weight of Miradur is 210 gsm/m2.
KB
KB™ is a board-based cover material and it’s suitable as such for perfect bound flex cover books like Bibles, hymn books, dictionaries, notebooks, and calendars. KB products are available in 290 g/m2 – 360 g/m2 according to customer needs.
MD and KB are finished with water-based varnish, which improves their wear resistance, appearance, and durability. The surface of the material is dirt-repellent and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Books can be designed by using digital, foil, silk screen, and UV-offset printing. Further MD and KB cover materials can be welded by using thermal, high-frequency, and ultrasonic welding.
MD and KB are manufactured without harmful phthalates and from raw materials, which are in compliance with REACH regulations. The REACH regulations were created to improve the environment and protect human health.
